cooperation

Cooperative algorithms have been seen to evolve under conditions when a single kind of digital organism (such as hyper-parasites) completely dominates the memory. In these organisms, a single individual is incapable of replication in isolation, but when two or more individuals of the same kind occur together in the memory, they are able to replicate through the cooperative combination of the two copies of the algorithm.
